Derek is no ordinary dinosaur. He's little and green, and he lives in a house with Montmorency the mouse. Sometimes he wishes he could be more like Fang and Fearless, his frightening brothers, but mostly he is content just to do what he likes best - knit. Over the years Derek knits piles of jumpers and singlets and tracksuits and mittens, and hundreds of pairs of blue woolly socks. And then, slowly and strangely, something starts to happen in the wild outside ...'Derek the Dinosaur' was judged the Best Designed and Illustrated Children's Book in the 1987 ABPA Book Design Awards Competition.
