'Paddle-pusher' was the first boat he ever built. He clearly had young sailors in mind, her length being exactly four feet by the old measurement. She was a sort of miniature pram dinghy, with identical, blunt ends; and the means of propulsion was a paddle much larger than her solitary crew. My father made a good job of that vessel.
